The Exhibition “YOUTOPIA – Stadtvisionen erleben” opened on July, 14, 2023, at the exhibition venue “Turm zur Katz” in Konstanz. The interactive exhibition invites visitors to discover utopian city concepts and to think about how their own, ideal city would look like. On four different levels, the exhibition topic is explored through both digital and analogue exhibits.

The exhibition was curated by students from the University of Konstanz, the HTWG Konstanz, and the HFM Trossingen as their final project for the teaching module Media Exhibition Design. The teaching module is being taught in Konstanz since 2013 and was originally designed by SFB-TRR 161 project leader Harald Reiterer (C01) and his colleague Eberhard Schlag from the architecture and design faculty at the HTWG Konstanz. Harald Reiterer’s expertise on multimodal interaction concepts for mobile computing as well as mixed reality are an integral part of the teaching concept. In 2017, the teaching team was joined by SFB-TRR 161 project leader Falk Schreiber (D04, A09, ÖINF), who contributes his expertise on immersive environments, virtual reality, and interactive visualizations.

YOUTOPIA runs until October 22 nd, 2023, at the Turm zur Katz, Wessenbergstraße 43, 78462 Konstanz. For more information, please visit the exhibition website at https://youtopia-konstanz.de/.
