“Stayin’ Alive! Mit Seuchen leben” (engl. “Living with Pandemic Diseases“) is the title of the exhibition about the COVID-19 pandemic and other pandemic diseases which have affected humanity since antiquity. The exhibition ran from July to October 2021 in Konstanz and was designed and implemented by students as part of the teaching module Media Exhibition Design, a unique cooperation between professors at the University of Konstanz, the HTWG Konstanz, and the HFM Trossingen. For their highly interdisciplinary and innovative teaching concept, the professors now received the teaching award of the state of Baden-Württemberg (Landeslehrpreis).

Together with Prof. Stefan Hauser from the history department at the University of Konstanz and Prof. Eberhard Schlag from the architecture and design faculty at the HTWG Konstanz, SFB-TRR 161 project leader Harald Reiterer (C01) designed the teaching concept for Media Exhibition Design in 2013 and has since implemented it with various teaching teams. His expertise on multimodal interaction concepts for mobile computing as well as mixed reality are an integral part of the teaching concept. In 2017, the teaching team was joined by SFB-TRR 161 project leader Falk Schreiber (D04, INF), who contributes his expertise on immersive environments, virtual reality and interactive visualizations.

About the Landeslehrpreis
The teaching award of the state of Baden-Württemberg (Landeslehrpreis) recognizes particularly good teaching performance since the mid-1990s. The Teaching Award has led to a fundamental debate at the state's universities on the subject of teaching and the criteria of good teaching. This prize has stimulated a competition of ideas and implementations of good teaching within the universities and thus contributed to an overall increase in quality. So far, more than 400 university teachers have received awards.
