October 1, 2026; Christina Warren

Following a call to Darmstadt, Michael Sedlmair (A08) leaves the University of Stuttgart. He joins the Technical University of Darmstadt as a professor of Visual Computing. Simultaneously, he joins the leadership team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD as a director. His new positions provide the ideal conditions to extend his research on human-centered artificial intelligence and on how visual computing technologies can assist people with complex tasks.

Even after the move, Michael Sedlmair will continue to lead the SFB-TRR 161 project A08 "Learning and Explaining Dimensionality Reduction through Visualization" until the conclusion of the third and final funding period, thereby ensuring continuity of the research agenda.
