On May 25, 2025, the 9 th Workshop on Eye Tracking and Visualization (ETVIS 2025) took place in Tokyo, Japan in conjunction with ETRA 2025. The workshop was sponsored by the SFB-TRR 161 and co-organized by TRR members Yao Wang (A07), Maurice Koch (B01), and Patrick Gralka (MGK). Inviting contributions that relate to eye tracking studies of visualizations as well as visualization techniques for eye tracking, the workshop received a notable number of submissions and saw strong attendance with roughly 40 participants.
Out of the fourteen papers presented at the workshop, two SFB-TRR 161 publications were selected for an Honorable Mention Award:
“Uncertainty-Aware Scarf Plots” investigates how analysts can be made aware of the inaccuracies in gaze data and automated detection of areas of interest. Authors: Nelusa Pathmanathan, Seyda Öney, Maurice Koch, Daniel Weiskopf, Kuno Kurzhals
“Group Gaze-Sharing with Projection Displays” introduces a new technique to communicate gaze between groups in tabletop workshop scenarios. The foundation for the paper was laid at the SFB-TRR 161 Hackathon in February 2025. Authors: Maurice Koch, Tobias Rau, Vladimir Mikheev, Seyda Öney, Michael Becher, Xiangyu Wang, Nelusa Pathmanathan, Patrick Gralka, Daniel Weiskopf, Kuno Kurzhals
