In the new video series "Science Visions" launched by the University of Stuttgart, early-career researchers present their own vision for science and discuss what motivates them in their research. Benedikt Ehinger, leader of Project D05 "Visual Computing for ERP-based Brain Activity", kicks off the new series by talking about his research on the human brain. One of Benedikt Ehinger's research goals is to develop new algorithms and methods that will enable the precise analysis of brain activity measurements even when test subjects and objects are in motion. For instance, within the SFB-TRR 161, he and his team investigate how brain potentials (EEG/ERPs) can be visualized in a modern, dynamic setting. They want to understand how researchers explore and visualize their data, and study how this process can be supported by using open, interactive, and fast visualization tools.
