On Monday, 22 th of February, PhD Students and Principal Investigators of the SFB-TRR 161 and further scientists of the Visualization Research Center (VISUS) and Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems (VIS) came together at the University of Stuttgart. Reason for their meeting was a workshop about press work for science topics with Eva Wolfangel – a journalist for science topics with special interest in computer science, data and their relevance in our society or human computer interaction.

How does a journalist find his topics? Which topics are relevant for press work? And how can they be prepared for non-experts? These were only some of the questions the participants discussed during the seven hours’ course organized by subproject Ö. Besides they carved out relevant activities for press work out of their research work and tried to find significant headlines in practical exercises.

Due to the great demand in this workshop we organized a further course on 4 th of April at our Transregio Partner in Konstanz.
