The Transregio paper "FlowBrush: Optical Flow Art" was honored with a Best Paper Award at Expressive 2017. This Symposium on Computational Aesthetics Sketch-Based Interfaces, Modeling Non-Photorealistic, Animation and Rendering was co-located with SIGGRAPH 2017 from July 29th to 30th in Los Angeles, California.
The honored paper presents a conversion tool that transforms motion input into artistic images. What the artist chooses for video input is completely free, leading to an infinite design space for new ideas to create content.
Congrats to the authors of this paper – Kuno Kurzhals, Michael Stoll, Andrés Bruhn and Daniel Weiskopf!
