At the Forschungstag 2020, Andrés Bruhn received the Best Publication Award from the University of Stuttgart.
In their publication „ Combining Shape from Shading and Stereo: A Joint Variational Method for Estimating Depth, Illumination and Albedo“ Andrés Bruhn, Daniel Maurer (SFB-TRR 161 alumni), Yong Chul Ju and Michael Breuß show, how two different methods—Shape from Shading (SfS) and stereo— can be combined, to improve image-based 3D reconstruction.
The Publication Award honours publications on outstanding research achievements at the University of Stuttgart.
