From 18 th to 19 th of February the workshop „VisArgue - Analysis and visualization of political negotiations“ will take place at the Turmforum, situated in the mainstation of Stuttgart. This event, organized by the SFB-TRR 161 principal investigators Prof. Miriam Butt and Prof. Daniel Keim, brings together scientists for Visual Computing and politician to talk about their ideas and developments for linguistically-motivated visual analysis of deliberation in political communication with one focus on the public arbitration on Stuttgart 21.

The researchers team of Miriam Butt developed a visual analytic solution for the analysis of the transcript material from this public debate that happened between 2010 and 2011. Such solutions could help to find out why and when arguments win in politic negotiations? The results of their activities will be discussed in presence of Dr. Heiner Geißler, the mediator of the public arbitration, during the upcoming event next week.
