"Quantifying User-centered Experiences (QUE-2016)" was the title of the the first Summer School for Visual Computing organized by members of the SFB-TRR 161. The research seminar took place from 2 nd to 6 th of July at the University of Stuttgart. Central parts of the program was lectures, hands-on sessions, workshops and poster sessions.

The participants, among them students from USA and Hungary, as well as gradutate students and principal investigators of the SFB-TRR 161, spent five days at the Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems (VIS) and the Visualization Research Center (VISUS) to learn about visual computing and discuss current questions, trends and activities in data analysis, human-computer interaction, visualization or eyetracking. During a boat trip in Tübingen and a special meeting for female academics the young academics could talk about their current research activities, and exchange their know-how and their experience in the academic world.
